September 4, 2011 – The Powerful Life

Sermon begins at the 31 minute mark!

Martin Luther’s famous hymn goes like this: “A mighty fortress is our God, a bulwark never failing; our helper he amid the flood of mortal ills prevailing. For still our ancient foe doth seek to work us woe; his craft and power are great, and armed with cruel hate, on earth is not his equal.” As we approach the tenth anniversary of the 9/11 attacks, we remember the experience of enemies who seek to “work us woe.”

But the hymn doesn’t stop there. We sing, “We will not fear, for God has willed His truth to triumph through us.” Sunday’s message talks about the power of God over evil, and the protection of God over those of us who trust Him. Feeling defeated lately? Come and hear how you can be triumphant. “The Spirit and the gifts are ours, thru him who with us sideth.”

10:30 am Sunday. See you there!
