November 28, 2010 – Jesus’ Ancestors: A Long Line of Good Men

There are many examples of manhood in the entertainment industry: Wild Hogs; Fight Club; Saving Private Ryan. Ever wonder what is a good man in God’s eyes? If you are a believer in Jesus Christ, will it matter later whether you are a good man? What will your children and great grandchildren say about you?

We begin Advent by looking at four men listed in Jesus’ genealogy – Boaz, David, Hezekiah, and Josiah. Their stories are engaging. Each brings his own unique take on what it means to be a believer. All are remembered for their strength, courage, generosity, and love for God. I think you will find their lives very interesting. I can’t wait to talk about it!

To prepare ahead read: Matthew 1:1-17; Ruth 2:10-13, 4:13-17; 1 Samuel 16:1-13; 2 Kings 18 and 2 Kings 19; 2 Kings 22:1-8 and 2 Kings 23:1-3
