Presbyterian Women

Presbyterian Women’s Ministry includes all women of the Presbyterian Church (USA). PW is a social and service group which also provides opportunities to study God’s Word. All women of the church are invited to participate in PW activities.

In 2024, we offered the following opportunities:

Women’s Fellowship Group (monthly meetings, September through May)

Sarah Women’s Fellowship meets at 7:00 pm on the 2nd Tuesday in members’ homes. For the beginning of the year (January through May), we completed a Bible Study offered by National PW/Horizons entitled, “Celebrating Sabbath”.  Beginning with the September meeting, we began a new study, using the National PW/Horizons Bible Study once again, this year’s entitled “Sacred Encounters”. We continued with this study through our May 2024 meeting.

Plant and Bake Sale (May)

Thanks to those who provided baked goods and those who purchased them, as well as those of you who purchased flowering annuals, perennials, grasses, hanging baskets, etc., available for sale.  This year we drove to Canton for their First Monday open market and purchased some of the plants there where prices are somewhat less expensive.  After expenses ($500), we had a profit of $635.

On-Line Christmas Auction (December)

Thanks to the on-line expertise and assistance from Jennifer and Katherine, the Christmas auction was once again offered on-line.  With the many and varied donations we received (over 100 items were donated) and the “customers” who purchased these items, we had another successful auction, raising over $2,000.  Thank you for shopping with us!

Giving Throughout the Year

In 2023, with motives of sharing and service, we made the following gifts:

  • Presbyterian Women’s National Mission, PC(USA)
  • Heifer International
  • Presbyterian Pan American School, Kingsville TX
  • PW National Mission (Least Coin offering)
  • Bridges Safe House, Cedar Hill TX
  • Mission of Good Shepherd Children’s Home, Belize
  • Duncanville Outreach Ministry
  • FPCD (towards sprinkler system, Memorial Fund, and gardens)

We look forward to opportunities in 2024 to continue FPCD’s mission of Connecting with God and sharing the Good News of Jesus Christ with the community.  We hope you will join us.
