June 7, 2009 – Special storytelling of the Parable of the Ten Pounds by Katherine Liddle

What are some things that are worthy of investment? Answers might include exercise, a good education, a special hobby, or musical or sports training. Of course many of us have invested in retirement savings, and perhaps now we wonder about the future, and whose investment will survive the current financial crisis.

Today’s parable teaches valuable lessons regarding investments. Jesus tells us to take the talents we have been given and put them to use for God’s kingdom for a sure return. It’s amazing that God actually puts this task into our feeble hands, but God does. Let’s listen closely so that we can invest wisely and reap abundant rewards. Come to worship on Sunday and let’s talk. I can’t wait!
