5/28/17 – Memorial Day message: The Blessings of Unity

This weekend we celebrate Memorial Day. While shopping may come to your mind, the weekend has the higher purpose of remembering. We set these traditions to help us remember the sacrifices that have been made for our country. It is a time to say thank you to someone who serves in the military, remembering that he or she does so voluntarily.

What to you is worth fighting for, or sacrificing for? This weekend take some time and ask yourself that question. As the Thessalonians sacrificed to spread the faith, we learn that peace broke out among formerly hostile groups. As they worshiped together, they became a Community in Unity. Perhaps the exploration of this subject is completely timely for our own divided nation. Come join the conversation. Sunday School begins at 9:15 for all ages and stages. Youth-led 4th Sunday Worship at 10:30. I can’t wait to see you!
